01 The challenge
A top-5 US bank had thousands of equity research analysts producing reports under tight deadlines, working from millions of internal documents โ proprietary models, regulatory filings, prior research, earnings transcripts, market data. Generic AI tools couldn't be trusted with the data and couldn't be grounded in the bank's own analytical frameworks. The firm needed an AI research copilot that worked the way analysts actually think โ grounded in their data, citable to source, and aware of the bank's house view.
